This is a video on "why" you should recruit a prisonner or not. The answer to this is.. " it depends". You may want to decide upon checking his/her stats. Will he/she provide good benefits to your colony? If yes, then you may want to reduce his resistance. Then recruit him/her asap before they decide to flee. Oh yes, they can flee anytime they want to.
