Following the success of the original movie, Mercedes decided to promote its new ML-Class in The Lost World: Jurassic Park. This was a savvy marketing move as it introduced millions of people to the brand’s first crossover while also showcasing how rugged it was. The film received mixed reviews, but the ML played a heroic role. It was prominently featured in a dramatic T-Rex attack where the crossover had to prevent an RV from falling over a cliff with Jeff Goldblum inside. That brings us to this interesting eBay find which is a replica of the vehicle featured in the movie. However, in this case, it’s a 2002 ML320 Sport with 213,000 miles (342,790 km) on the odometer. Given that it’s a replica, it’s not surprising to learn the model has a camouflaged exterior with steel ‘body armor’ and a roof rack. The crossover also boasts a Warn winch and green painted wheels that are wrapped in BF Goodrich Mud Terrain KM-2 tires. The interior appears to be in decent shape, but the seller does mention a handful of issues. These include a leaking power steering pump, door lock problems and a tear on the driver’s side seat. The original bumpers are also cracked and the check engine light is on due to what’s being described as a “loose gas filler neck.” The vehicle doesn’t look half bad, but the seller wants $14,000 (£10,650 / €12,492) for it. That’s a lot of money for a 17 year old Mercedes ML, but the owner claims it’s one of only three road-legal replicas in existence.
