Momentary Ambient - Ableton Live Push 2 - Improvised Soundtrack Performance

Really trying to hone in on the idea of live electronic music production. As a result, I replaced all of my hardware with a control surface. Im realizing it’s not hardware that I enjoy using, but the quest for live performance that got me there more than anything else. Obviously, this piece is rehearsed but there isn’t any pre made MIDI or MIDI clips being used of any kind. All notes and changes in the structure of the piece happen in real time as brought about by the moment. The drums you hear are generative via max4live and the arp is being controlled by the same MIDI I’m sending live to the pad. Bass drone and lead are independently triggered by hand as the piece plays. It’s been a long road getting here, through many different setup revisions, as you can see by ticking through my videos. However this setup, albeit quite obvious, has brought me closer than ever to making music in the moment. Planning on sticking with this setup for a while and further developing the system, and my skill as a performer. Enjoy!
