Oral history interview with Brad McLelland: Oklahoma Authors

Interview Date: 01/31/2020 Interviewer: Blackshear, Emily Interview Location: Stillwater, Oklahoma Brad McLelland, author of historical fiction and fantasy novels and co-author of the 'Legends of the Lost Causes' series, talks about his early childhood interest in writing growing up in southern Arkansas. He discusses starting his writing career as a journalist before returning to graduate school to pursue his MFA in fiction at Oklahoma State University. He describes his experience publishing his work and working with a notable New York City publisher and emphasizes how his writing has changed throughout the revising process. He also provides some insight into his upcoming work and advice for now authors. This interview was conducted as part of the Deep Roots: Oklahoma Authors Oral History Project at the OSU Library.
