Promoting the welfare of society with Circular Economy

Meet our speakers: 👤 𝐓𝐚𝐝𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐢 𝐊𝐮𝐛𝐨 is Co-Founder & CEO, AC Biode (in Luxembourg, Japan, and the UK). 12-years at Sojitz Corporation on business development and project finance about battery, machinery, infrastructure, renewable energy, mainly in Africa and Latin America. Having worked in Asia, Angola, and Brazil, Tadashi holds an MBA from Judge Business School, the University of Cambridge. A former Bronze Medalist at the Feather Weight Class of Japan’s National Boxing. AC Biode is a ClimateTech start-up based on chemistry and electronics. They upcycle biomass ash, coal ash, or sewer sludge ash into absorbent or antimicrobial materials, and sell waterless composting toilets. 👤 𝐏𝐞𝐝𝐫𝐨 𝐒á𝐞𝐳 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐭í𝐧𝐞𝐳: Through Design, he has focused his activity on building a future of sustaibility and wellness. Design has always something to do with solving problems (let’s say ‘challenges’) and creating meaning. So he tries to align both in the (co)creation of economical, social and environmental value; value which is regenerative and distributive. He started in Valencia in the Habitat and furniture sector, then he landed in Nariño (Colombia) in Cooperation for Development. When he flew back, he run into the challenge of leveraging distributed work for creating value from different locations. Then he decided that my work had to change 360º. He works as a circular economy researcher and industrial designer at Inno3 right now, and have collaborated with brands as Cultura Circular (Circular Culture), as well as triple-impact-startups as Terrenae (Castellón, Spain) and Aloklub (Bilbao, Spain). 👤 𝐉𝐮𝐥𝐢𝐚 𝐑𝐨𝐞𝐛𝐮𝐜𝐤 established Upcycle Fashion in 2010 whilst studying for the world's first Masters' Degree in Fashion and the Environment at the London College of Fashion, University of the Arts London. Through Upcycle Fashion she works as a freelance sustainable fashion workshop facilitator and project manager, focusing on sustainability within fashion and textiles and education. She works to enable circular economies around clothing at a local level. This approach encourages creativity, community and skills to value the longevity of textiles and the potential for reuse, reshaping and repurposing.
