Get Together with the Filipino Community in Brunei Brunei Darussalam 01 June 2011 More than one thousand Filipinos in Brunei warmly welcomed President Benigno S. Aquino III at Rizqun International Hotel, where the meeting of the President with the Filipino community was held. In his speech, President Aquino stressed that the efforts of the government in rebuilding the country focuses on every Filipino's welfare, and that his administration aspires to create more jobs in the country so that working abroad will not be an option for the Filipino people in order to earn more for their families. There are about 19,000 Filipinos residing and working in Brunei. Eighteen percent of these are professionals, 30% are skilled, 29% are semi-skilled, 17% are household workers and only one percent is unskilled worker.
