Stuttgart 2019 : Create unknown complex test cases for indeterministic autonomous vehicle behaviors

This presentation gives a solution deployed in Renault to automatically create and execute complex and unknown test cases to validate indeterministic autonomous vehicle behaviors, compliant with SOTIF §11, with a high rate of variability. A real-time closed loop is used with a 3D simulator tool and a model-based testing tool. At each step of the simulation, the 3D environment of the autonomous vehicle is controlled by a model that analyzes all the different behavior possibilities for next steps, and chooses one of them depending on probability. The test case is created during the simulation and is adapted in real time.
