Hello friends! Paint with me a festive scene of the New Year in gouache as we welcome the Year of the Rabbit! 🎇🐰🎆 Today’s art adventure is inspired by a touching and heartwarming short film from the makers of Genshin Impact that is set around the celebrations of the Chinese New Year and Lantern (Yuanxiao) Festival. I had a lot of fun drawing the festive fireworks and lanterns as they light up the night sky. This is the first time that I have tried to draw from a “live” reference using gouache, I hope that I was successful in translating this cheerful scene into a painting.
