Aleksander Świeszewski (1839-1895) - Polish painter, landscape painter , representative of the Polish Munich school. He studied at the School of Fine Arts in Warsaw under the direction of Christian Breslauer , and continued his education at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich with Fritz Bamberger . After the January Uprising he settled in Germany permanently, he never broke off contacts with his homeland, exhibited in Zachęta and the Krakow Society of Friends of Fine Arts . Aleksander Świeszewski mainly painted mountain landscapes, he traveled around Italy (Tyrol), France and Switzerland , he also visited the Tatra Mountains . During the wandering, he made sketches, which he used to paint paintings in the studio. He achieved considerable artistic success and gained critical acclaim, in 1881 his picture of Ludwik II , the king of Bavaria, bought a landscape of a windmill .
