J. S. Bach Fugue in D minor cover (beginning only)
J. S. Bach's beginning portion of the Fugue in D minor (played on my Yamaha DGX-640 keyboard). A little background about how I learned this piece and why it's not the entire Fugue: When I was young, I used to watch a popular educational cartoon called "Il etait une fois... l'homme," which was about the history of humanity. I loved the music theme, so I decided to learn it. I had no idea who had composed the piece. The following YouTube link (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oNURUGCOQ5I&list=PLC7E5F742E8112A23&index=29) is exactly how it sounded. I learned the piece by ear. But, later, after listening to an actual interpretation of the Fugue, I found out that the show's version was a halftone higher than what it actually is. So, I had to kind of relearn the piece by transposing it in the correct key. Fortunately, it was actually easier to play it in D. In effect, I had learned the piece the hard way because playing it a halftone higher was technically more difficult:) Note: I apologize for the tiny skip in the audio at the 0:17 mark. It's not in my original recording. It's a technical glitch that I couldn't fix.
