09-13 Toyota Corolla Matrix Pontiac Vibe Clunking knocking Rattle noise KYB Strut Coil Spring SR418

The content of this video is put forth as INFORMATION and ENTERTAINMENT purpose only. Any action you take upon the information on this website and video are strictly at your own risk. This video shows how I replace the Driver side Strut (Front Left) on a 2009 Toyota Corolla due to suspension noise. I believed the noises comes from the front right (passenger) side strut/shock/spring but Auto Zone shipped this one (driver side) first; therefore, since I need to replace as a pair. I put up the driver side first. It should be very similar between left side and right side. (KYB Complete set Driver side SR4184, Passenger side SR4183). There are 3 x 14mm nuts on top of strut and one 14mm holding the brake line. The 2 big 22mm holding the strut through the control arm is very hard to remove and I used impact wrench and luckily it works out. Please REMEMBER to peel off the old rubber strut cover and put it to the new one. This rubber cover is NOT provided on FYB and the cover will protect the bearing inside which will made them last longer. PLEASE DON"T THROW AWAY the old shock without remove the dust cover and put it to the new one. Torque Specification as follows: The top three 14mm holding the strut is torque to 29 foot-pound. The 14 mm holding the brake line is torque 21 foot-pound. The sway bar link nuts (my Delphi sway bar link nut is 19mm) is torque to 55 foot-pound. The two big 22 mm nut holding the strut and control arm is torque to 177 foot-pound. The wheel nuts is torque to 76 foot-pound. Please like, subscribed and comment. Thank you for watching.
