From Je Ne Sais Quoi to Nirvana: A Journey from Exoticism to Interculturality
Thank you so much for attending! This recital is special, as it is my final recital for my Doctoral of Musical Arts in Violin Performance at UCLA. This performance is directly related to my dissertation, which explores Indian and Western musical interculturality. More specifically, this performance explores the ways Indian and Western music can possibly be synthesized to create new musical forms. I begin with a piece from France, which could be seen to represent a quintessential Western classical work. The subsequent two pieces move increasingly toward the Indian idiom, with the last piece representing a robust synthesis of Indian and Western classical music, with both idioms being represented equally. ⭐️ If you're enjoying this performance, I would be honored if you would feel inclined to join me on my mission to foster more cross-cultural awareness, and environmental conservation 🌏...two causes I am extremely passionate about. The money will be used specifically to help fund ⭐️ working with a filmmaker to create short music-videos with this music, reminding people of the awesome beauty that is nature. Thank you so much!
