Break the Binary - gender identity awareness with typography
For years people who do not fit the stereotype of a heterosexual have been excluded from society, victimised and punished. Thankfully, in the 21st century we are at last seeing openly homosexual people treated as equals in Western societies. But people are more complex than that and some don't fit this 'gay or straight' model that has been created. We are not 'one size fits all'. Transvestites, asexuals and non-binary people are some of the groups who are still left on the edges of society as the mainstream fails to understand their preferences, seeing them perhaps as attention seekers or weirdos. But these people are not trying to be awkward, they just want to be who they feel they are, the same as anyone else.
