Addison here and today I’ll be reviewing the rough and rugged SOG Kiku fixed blade knife model KU-2012. Searching for a heavy-duty fixed blade knife that can handle all types of chopping and hacking? Look no further than the SOG Kiku. With an overall length of 10.76” and a blade measuring 5.6”, this knife serves as the ultimate combat and outdoor tool. The Kiku’s blade is constructed of AUS-8 stainless steel and features a flat ground edge with a hard cased, black titanium nitride finish. The Kiku’s blade has a modified tanto design with the front edge consisting of a plain, flat grind and the back featuring a concave shape with a hollow ground edge. This unique blade design means that you could this knife to cut, slash, hack, batton and even chop through tough materials like heavy hide, thick rope, bone and wood with either side of the blade. The handle of this knife is composed of linen micarta material and features finger grooves and dimples in order to provide you with a superb grip in any situation or environment. This knife’s handle also features a small lanyard hole so you could slip either a metal chain or cord through the hole and tie it to a pack. This knife has a full tang construction and comes with a hard molded nylon sheath, which could be tied to a pack or vest and could also be attached to your belt with the Velcro belt loop or the included belt clip. Overall, the SOG Kiku is the ultimate survival and combat fixed blade knife. It’s full tang construction, tough as nails blade steel, comfortable handle material and unique blade design make this knife the perfect tool to have with you in the field or in a serious survival situation. The versatile carrying options that the sheath offers also makes this knife extremely easy to carry in even the most extreme environments.
