Théodore Lack: Au fil de l'eau (With the current), Op. 117
Phillip Sear plays a barcarolle from around 1887 by the French composer Théodore Lack (1846-1921). ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Théodore Lack (1846-1921) studied and later taught at the Paris Conservatoire. It was his pedagogical "Methode de piano" of 1909 that introduced Debussy's "Le petit negre" to the world. His many salon pieces are all well-crafted and full of interesting details. This piece appeared in an American album with the English title 'Waternymph', but I doubt if that was Lack's invention! The thumbnail shows a detail from 'On the Seine' by Gilbert Davis Munger (1837–1903) (source: https://is.gd/S1WkI4 ). ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------- Played by Phillip Sear http://www.psear.co.uk (Email: [email protected] WhatsApp: http://wa.me/441444483794 )
