Small Carnivore September: Fossa Runs Away With GoPro!
Join us at Port Lympne Hotel & Reserve this September as we go crazy for small carnivores every weekend throughout the month! Visitors, supporters and overnight guests will be able to join our experts on fascinating guided tours, where they’ll catch a glimpse of some of our small carnivores, including fishing cats, margays and fossa during feeding times. Plus learn more about these small, yet mighty, creatures at the free fact packed talks, taking place at various times and locations. Meanwhile, overnight guests during September can even join a Keeper led tour from 7pm on Friday and Saturday evenings, for just £7.50 per person. There will be a host of fun activities and interactive games taking place and purrfect prizes to be won in the fishing cat themed tombola, priced at 50p per ticket. Don’t miss the opportunity to win a behind the scenes tour, if you can find the hidden fishing cat in our fun grid game and for just £1 you can test your cycling skills in our fundraising challenge, where we will be attempting to cycle the length of Sri Lanka, an incredible 431Km! Visitors will discover plenty of small carnivore merchandise to buy, including freshly grown cat mint to take home, badges, magnets and mirrors, plus photo prints that can’t be purchased anywhere else. There will even be discounts on small carnivore related products in the Port Lympne giftshop. All monies raised will be split 50 / 50 with The Aspinall Foundation and the Small Cat Advocacy and Research Charity (SCAR) based in Sri Lanka, which protects and conserves Sri Lanka’s small wild cat species and their habitats. Funds raised will go towards a new fishing cat habitat at Port Lympne Hotel & Reserve and help save Sri Lanka’s small cats in the wild.
