So the MacBook Pro has always been a popular laptop amongst creative professionals, and rumour has it that the device will soon be getting an upgrade! When it's released, the 2016 model of Apple's flagship laptop could have some really exciting features - some which could even tempt Windows users to switch! So let's take a look at some of the rumoured specs. Now graphics are an important part of any performance laptop. The MacBook Pro 2015 has Intel Iris Graphics in most of the models and an AMD Radeon R9 M370X in the highest- end 15.4-inch model. Now, if the rumour from Venture Capital Post is true, then the 2016 MacBook will blow its predecessor out of the water by including the new GeForce GTX 950 from nVidia. This is a true gaming card, with 640 CUDA cores. If Apple really do include the 950M in the new MacBook Pro, then maybe it might shape up to be a serious competitor to Windows-based gaming laptops. But graphics performance is not the only thing that will be improved. Christian Today reports that the MacBook Pro 2016 will have a new Intel Skylake-U processor that promises higher performance and more power efficiency. We don't yet know the exact CPUs that will be used, but MacRumours has made some guesses based on spec sheets released by Intel. In their opinion, the first CPU on this list could be used for the low-end 13-inch, the second for the mid-range 13-inch, and the third for the high-end 13-inch. So, if this rumour proves true, the low-end 13-inch will have dual-core CPU with a 2.9GHz base frequency boosting up to 3.3GHz for single-core turbo. It will also have 4MB L3 cache. This is a favourable comparison with the current low-end 13 inch, which has a 2.7GHz dual-core i5 with 3.1GHz Turbo Boost and 3MB L3 cache. So the new MacBook Pro 2016 will be faster, but what else might be included? Well, the details are a bit sketchy at the moment. Many websites, including NeuroGadget and Christian Today, claimed that the 13-inch version will only include 4GB RAM. I don't quite believe this, because the current baseline 13-inch version has 8GB. Why would Apple downgrade the RAM on their flagship laptop? A more believable rumour, that was repeated on both sites, was that the 13-inch version will include 128GB of SSD, and the 15-inch will have a 516GB drive. The VC Post website said that the 2016 MacBook Pro would be likely to include a USB Type C port, of the same type found on the 2015 MacBook. So, that's all the specs out of the way. But when will the 2016 MacBook Pro be released? Well, everybody seems to have a different answer to that question. Many, including Australia Network News, were sure that it would be released at Apple's 9th September keynote, but that obviously didn't happen. Based on my research, current opinion places the release date anywhere from the end of September 2015 to early 2016. Hey, I'm HandyAndy Tech Tips, and thanks so much for watching my video!
