Kenorland (Original)
LYRICS (Verse 1) I woke up early to stand in line To watch my parade floats passing by. I saw the sun rise over the iron fields... there was no parade for me. (Verse 2) I saw the first financial crash The volcanoes covered the world in ash. It was warm at first, but how was I to know? The fireworks weren't for me. (Chorus) And I won't call it dark, because it was day. And I won't say I'm broken, because I'm ok. But the moments had passed, one after the last, And I was the only one who came. (Verse 3) I took classes predicting rain And split the world into an XY plane. Until me, no one knew things of such magnitude, But there was no award for me. (Chorus) (Verse 4) They knighted the heroes from storybooks, But nobody gave me a second look. Was I plain? Was I pale? Or was I even real? There was no requiem for me. (Chorus) (Bridge) Is it colder now I've gone, have you noticed? Have you realized something's missing, even if you never learned of me? After the rain, did snow come falling down? Did you wonder what it could mean? (Chorus) •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• Notes: Kenorland is a proposed supercontinent that is thought to have existed during the Neoarchean era roughly 2.7 billion years ago. It spent about 100 million years as Earth's dominant landmass. When it broke apart around 2.6 billion years ago, it created a massive spike in rainfall and a decrease in greenhouse gases. This resulted in a sharp drop in global temperatures and led to the first "snowball earth", during which the planet spent millions of years below freezing temperatures.
