Police: 12-year-old tried to kill mom for taking iPhone

A 12-year-old girl allegedly hatched a plan to kill her mother for taking away her iPhone. On both attempts, the girl tried to poison her mother with bleach. Boulder County Sheriff's Office Cmdr. Heidi Prentup says the first attempt occurred on March 2, when the girl poured bleach into her mother's breakfast smoothie. The mother noticed the odor and thought her daughter had cleaned the glass but not rinsed it fully. The mother was left feeling ill.
