Final Fantasy 8 - walkthrough part 3 (Disc 3)

Contents: Balamb Garden- Deck (going to Rinoa in the Infirmary) -- Great Salt Lake (fight with Abadon) Items: Flare Stones x10 Cards: - Notable things: Abadon is an undead monster and weak against Fire and Holy. It has 2 "modes". One when sitting and one when standing. When sitting, it will use physical attacks that do medium damage plus Curse. When standing it will use Blind, Silence and Confuse and your physical and magic attacks will hardly do any damage. It will alternate between these 2 modes at regular intervals. If you have Silence and Confuse junction them to ST-Def-J. If you don't, make sure you use Esuna or Remedy on any character afflicted by them as soon as possible. Start by summoning Cerberus to cast Double and Triple and use Fire and Curative magic on it. Curative magic will do the same damage on Abadon even when it's standing. Alternatively you can use the Item ability and throw X-Potions and Elixirs on it for an even easier win. Phoenix Down, Life and Full-Life won't work on it. If you win the battle you will receive 10 Flare Stones (you may get nothing or a Power Wrist if it's at higher levels) and 40 AP. You can Mug a Power Wrist from it. (1*) Indicates a missable. Βy missable I may not necessarily refer to sth that's permanently missed at this point but also to sth that is given only a limited times. (2*) a "-" does not necessitate that no rare Card is obtainable at that point but simply that I may have included it at a later part of the game.
